I was driving to work in the rain this morning, and reached down and flipped it to 4H. Nothing happened, no light on the dash or anything. At the next light, with the switch still in 4H, I floored it, and it was definitely still in 4x2.
When I got to work, I switched to 4L in the parking lot. The transfer case switched over and the 4L light illuminated on the dash, but still not the other one. I couldn't test it, but I'm guessing the front wasn't engaged then either.
I had a similar problem with my 96 GMC many years ago. It was some sort of actuator that failed in the front diff.
Anyone else have problems with this?? I'm still under warranty, so it should be fixed for free, but I'm still annoyed...
Never had any problem shifting into 4x4. There was a TSB on a sensor/indicator in the 4x4 and I had that done because the light was flashing. No problems since. I do ease off the gas when shifting.
hmmm, i thought about this awhile back, i too think that my 4hi isnt engaging, i know from previous 4x4 truck that when i engage into 4hi and turn my wheels that i feel it start to pull, but w/ my titan no sensation of pulling/grabbing. i thought it might be because of how much power the titan has...what do u think....
Not sure, but when mine was working, I could definitely feel it in the steering wheel. It will be a while before I can make it to the dealership, but I will let you know what was broken.
yes my 4wd goes on, i have the xe 4x4, soo the only lt that comes on is a pic of the front axle blinking for engage and it stays on while on 4hi.....i defintely dont feel anything on the steering like my old truck, hmmm something is not right w/ my truck also....
