Has anyone been successful in coverting their 2wd Titan into a 4wd?
If you have where did you get your parts, and what parts did you use?
I am exploring my options. I want to be 4wd now and don't really want to buy another truck since I already have so much into mine and it would be a shame to lose my @ss and have to start all over again. I love my truck but I found a reason to have 4wd now, C.O.R.R. Recon team. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

a lot of money either way. I would try a trutrac first.

Salvage Titan on Ebay for sale. Take the parts needed off of it. Then salvage the rest of it off for parts to sell. Looks like it may be a 4X4

I think you would need to buy an ECU that is programmed for 4X4. Besides all the obvious mechanical parts.

I've heard some rumors of an aftermarket way of setting it up where you don't need the stock computer changed. Think about the guys doing solid axle swaps, same difference, they pretty much strip everything stock off and put a whole new front end on.

I knew a guy who turn his 4x2 into a 4x4, he took it into the dealer and traded it in.
Nice one.

But they also already have the correct ECU, the TCU, and the 4x4 main harness. Yes, the entire main harness is different between the two. You'd be better off trading, and probably cheaper as well.

The factory ecu wont control aftermarket parts.
If I trade it in I will lose big. $34,000 invested with truck, tax, lift, tires, wheels, cover, ect. Figure about $18,000 for trade in. New XE 4wd with big tow $29,200 + tax, lift, tires, wheels, ect. Even if it were 4,000 I'd be better off.

Go with trutrac and a longtravel front setup.. you said it was for CORR, right?? if you want to make a rockcrawler out of it, then get a set of Dana 60's (front and rear) and swap them both out, and find a totalled Titan that would have the trans with the Xfer case on it.
But if you just want a normal 4x4, trade it in....
I'm not sure what you mean here. I agree with the others; either get a trutrac if you need the traction, trade for a 4WD, or just use your truck in situations that don't require 4WD.
FWIW, I was in a similar boat as you a while ago. I had orders to Colorado, with only a 2WD truck. Of course this was before the Trutrac was released. I did some pretty hefty research into the required parts, and their prices used and new. It's just not feasible to do a conversion.
Not really a conversion from to 4x2->4x4 but Four Wheeler's Mega Titan has a Dynatrac 60 up front. The whole project looks incredibly expensive though...

Hey man, so are you admitting that Kenny was right? Are 4wd titans better at the CORR recon thing? LOL
Aqua, I just figured out how to switch from 2 to 4wd. There is a selector switch to the right side of the steering column, you just turn it to 2,4H or 4L it's easy!
