Too many mods to list PM me I'll tell ya.
Mine failed again. The first time was on the passenger side at 12,500 miles. Today, at roughly 25,000 miles, I noticed that the driver's side is definitely leaking, much worse than the first time. It is interesting that most fail on the passenger's side first, then on the driver's side. The bright side is, I was going to replace the differential oil at 25,000 miles but now I am going to get it done free as a part of axle seal replacement.

well mine got fixed under 60K warranty. Thank you Nissan!
Also are the failures with just the 3.36 BT or are they happening with 2.94 as well? Could it be the vent tube not venting correctly do to over fills duirng diff oil changes?
Driver's side seal just went on my 05 at almost 40k miles. It went less than 3k miles after the passenger side. Are there any changes to the parts they are installing to replace the leaking ones?
i just took mine in to the dealer for the 30k mile servicing, and for them to replace both rear seals, but they said something got past the seals and scored the inner axle housing so they are ordering a brand new rear end. i asked them if they can order an '05 version with the finned diff cover and they said that they would take care of it. not sure if nissan would issue a plain 04 axle, so thought i'd be proactive in asking for the upgraded axle.

My seals were found leaking when the vehicle was approximately 2000 miles out of warranty. It was discovered when I brought Titan to Dealer to check brake judder for the third time. Dealer reported judder was actually rear trans-axle that was damaged from leaking fluid through seals. Nissan refuses to fix even though this is a well documented problem. Nissan customer service is anything but. Keep reporting this problem to force a recall!
My CC is at the dealer for the second driver side axle seal.
They called me today and said they replacing the rack and pinion and the annoying seat squeak will go away with the new seat they are ordering, blown right front speaker and the TPMS isn't working. Yes I gave them a list at 29,995 miles. I hope they just change out the axle, I know it will fail again. The new seal was leaking less than 2000 miles after install.

Looks like my Rear Passanger seal is leaking - it was in two weeks ago for an oil change and to get my bed bolts and spacers fixed and they didn't notice it. Hope it is covered by the PT warranty as I am over the 36 moth one.

i am convinced that the leaks are coming from the pressure build up inside the axle, both vaccum and release. the one way little crap *** check valve that nissan decided to use for a vent valve may be doing an ok job at releasing pressure, but what happens when the diff cools down and all the pressure inside has been released? the check valve is not letting air back in.... all other trucks have a hose that runs up under the bed, why not the titan? i ran my own vent tube up to the fuel tank. we shall see if this has any effects on the longevity of my axle seals...
I agree with your suspicion. I have a '4KCXE, no leaks yet, but I plan to do the axle vent mod, add an aluminum cover and replace the fluid with synthetic this fall.
