1st I took it to a Nissan dealer to make sure what I saw was indeed a leak. They gave me an estimate to fix the leak one in the front and one in the rear (different sides).
I then took it back to who I bought it from, a subaru dealer but an excellent local reputation (I purchased the Titan 3 months ago) and meanwhile reading the crap out of all the posts here. They said this past Monday after looking at it that they would fix the leaks n/c on next Monday.
Time fpr me to join the club. Rotated my tires last week 12-26-07 and noticed they were wet with diff fluid on the inside of the rims. Was Planning on taking it into the dealer week of 1-7-08. Unfortuantly I won't get to drive the truck in. Firday 1-4-08 the rear diff let loose while attemping tp merge into traffic. Truck is being towed into the dealer ship today 1-7-08 for repair. Truck has 68,000 miles, occasional towing of a 3,400lb track car, no HD usage at all I did buy a extended "gold plus" 5year 100,000 warrenty so hopefully the repairs while be covered.
It was $1895.00 well spent! These repairs alone would cost more then that. Thank goodness I listened to my wife when she suggested we purchase the extended warranty
I was thinking about that until I saw the post 'Axle vent mod Doesn't Work'
That is the first post that I know of post vent mod with a leak. One failure doesn't make it a bust yet. Also, the damage to the seal could have be done before it started leaking. Just a thought or my 2 cents
I confirmed a pretty good vacuum on my axle after cool down and parked overnight. I think it is possible, that as you start to drive with the vacuum the seals are pulled in hard and rub on the turning axle with extra wear occurring.

How did you confirm the vacuum? I agree the damage to the seal may have already been present. I've noticed all three of my leaks the next morning after the first drive. The occurances have also occured the next day after extended +1 hour of freeway speed driving... so it's very likely a vacuum is building during cool down.

I unscrewed the axle vent and could hear a significant rush of air into the axle and could feel the vacuum as I unscrewed the vent. The vent is a one-way check valve it lets air out, not in.
