I just purchases an '04 CC LE and the driver's side seal has been leaking for some time. It was caked on almost 1/4" thick in places.
I can't post pics yet, but you can see it at smithplanet DOT com/temp/axleseal.jpg
I think this is the only thing I didn't check before buying the truck. And apparently the dealer missed it in the pre-sale 'thorough' inspection. The fluid was about an inch low, but looked fine - it was probably changed shortly before the sale (again, dealer didn't notice this?!?)
Luckily, it's just within the warranty - I'm going to push for an entire new backend as this problem seems to continually rear it's ugly head after it shows up once. I'll let you know how it goes.
Filed a complaint - conf. #10229464.

I bought my 04 cc truck a couple years ago and I thought I recalled the guy I bought it from saying it had the extended 75000 power train warranty and I just nocitced my real seal leaking. Anyone heard of the 75000 warranty?

Rotated my tires when I got home today, have a bad axle seal leak on my passenger side. Never noticed it, stayed on the back of my wheel. Don't know how long it has been broken.
Calling the local dealer tomorrow.

This damn truck is starting to have more problems than my ranger did. I guess my next truck is a Toyota.

Rear seals replaced at 57,000 miles. Complaint submitted per this thread. Complaint number 10231597. The work was done by my mechanic because I didn't think it would be covered by the warranty.
I noticed oil leaking inside passenger rear wheel.
From the dealers service print out after service was completed:
Cause: F
NE15AA RPL BOTH AXLE SHAFTS/BEARINGS
857 WPN
2 43252-7S200 Seal-Oil R
2 40210-7S210 Bearing-RE
2 43070-7S200 Spacer Axl
1 43082-7S210 Cage Rear
1 999MP-AH000
Dealer said both of mine were leaking and said that he heard some pinion whine(gear oil is probably low from the leaking) so they are replacing the whole rear with the new part. I just bought the truck and took it in for a look over and they found that. Hopefully I will have a new rear end and TrueTrac by the start of next week.

well I check for leaks regularly and last night I found the dreaded drips on the drivers side. Looks like it has been leaking for about a week or 2. I will get the dealer to fix it next week. They told me today they would need it at the beginning of the week not the end so I guess ill have to wait till monday.

Picked mine up today (getting TSB done) and my rear driver side was leaking and I’m taking back on Monday (didn’t have the part today) to have it fixed. They must be doing it as goodwill because the dealer told me the powertrain warranty would cover it even though I have 63k on my 04.

Same thing here... 60900 on it and replaced the whole axle (due to axle seals leaking and pinion whine). I think Nissan doesn't want any bad press on these trucks to hurt the already hurting sales. But, either way... I'm HAPPY!

I found the dreaded drip on the driver's side on Sunday. I took it to the dealer and they are replacing rear diff, seals, etc. They said the redesigned differential will allow more ventilation to keep the heat down. We'll see. Also having them check the manifolds while it is there. Anything else I should have them look at??????
