Re: Rear axle seals leaks. Please report.

OK - The local Nissan Dealer where I bought my truck changed some parts and put on a new axle vent. Here are the part # -
Did I get the updated version? - or did they use the old style defective ones that my January 2005 big tow rear came with?

2 43070-7S200 Spacer AXL
2 40210-7S210 Bearing-RE
2 43252-7S200 Seal-Oil R
1 38322-41LOA Breather R
2 01541-0001U Ring-Snap

Customer states there is an occasional "popping" when put in reverse - 700 road test complete - can not duplicate

Re: Rear axle seals leaks. Please report.

Well, they replaced the rear axle seals. They had my truck for over 6 days! I received a rental during the time, so I guess I can't complain too much. Anyway, my warranty has already expired...but they replaced the rear as a one time good will. So, I don't know how much it cost. I do know that to replace the transfer case seal was $191.89 total. I will try out 4-wheel drive this weekend at the hunting club. I also went to that link...highway safety administration or something like that and made a claim as requested. Any other issues with my 2004 Titan SE?

Re: Rear axle seals leaks. Please report.

I just got my Titan a few weeks ago. My brother in-law noticed the rear right axle seal leak. I brought it in yesterday and they fixed it under warranty as my 2005 has 40,000 miles on it. I reported it.

Re: Rear axle seals leaks. Please report.

Just filed a complaint. Both rear seals out. Mine is an 04 with 83000 on it. I also have both front wheel bearings out, front axle boots slinging grease, both front lower ball-joints out, and a bad control arm. Total to fix $2450!! I just bought this truck 4 months ago. I had to fix the 4 wheel drive also for another $400. I'm really thinking about trading it.

Re: Rear axle seals leaks. Please report.

My wife found one on my truck, of course she found it while I'm doing my year in beautiful Baghdad. She took it to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty no problem.

I sent my complaint in. I've had to change them twice. I have an '05 with 160K on it. All hwy. My front diff went out last winter and they wont cover it. Now both my exhaust manifolds have cracks and my seals need to be replaced AGAIN. The company "NISSAN" have absolutely no customer service skills at all. WHen I've got everything fixed I'm selling the piece of crap and buying a Tundra

Just took mine in for an oil change today at 53,000 miles. Service tech told me my left rear seal was leaking, but it was covered under warranty. Took around 6hrs for them to replace.
