Hey great news! After having my right seal fail, now the left one has followed suit with 80K miles. I should probably be pretty happy it lasted that long huh.
If I am really lucky the diff will hold up for another 20K.
I don't trust the truck to carry the water any longer.
Titan's been at the dealer (Santa Monica Nissan) all week for the transfer case and both rear seals leaking. They're not replacing the whole rear, just the t-case and rear seals under 60k warranty. Picking it up in a few hours. Funny thing is I just had the truck there 2 weeks ago for oil change, tire rotation, free wiper blades, 27 point and they suggested a transmission drain and fill for $200 which I planned to do the 1st week of Sept. Question: With these repairs being done, do they drain and fill the transmission or is it untouched? I'll ask the service writer... and i'm assuming the t-case and rear diff are filled w/ new fluids.
Reported to NHTSA.

so.. i am now more pisssed off the before... took my truck in.. both rear axle seals are leaking (already knew this) and the diff is leaking he said... so they are going to replace it.. (the guy who owned the truck prior got an after market warranty) so i have to pay a $50 ded and everything else is covered... but come to find out.. my truck has 39000 miles on it now... i got my truck jan 16 09..... my truck was at nissan jan 8, 09 for rear axle seal leak at 19000 miles.... are you kidding me nissan???? they need to get this ish fixed... cause if i have to take my truck in again for this problem.. i will not be veryy happyy!!! grrr.... lol
You will get the upgraded axle so hopefully it will good forever and ever but don't hold your breath. I have two axle seals leaking, one front diff axle seal, one front diff pinion seal and who what the hell else is leaking on two different trucks.

ok.. so you win.. lol i just hope they hurry the hell up.. i hateee driving the benz.. which is sad.. i would rather drive my truck then a v12 benz.. go figure.. lol im a redneck..
Was repaired and is now leeking again, a week later! I guess Ill have to demand a new axle this time. They also repaired a leak in the transfer case! I still love my truck though! Keep you updated.
Mine is still ok after the repair (bearing + seal + whatever else) but i havent driven it much. I cannot see how the dealership can justify replacing the axle instead of the seals... unless all your fluid leaked out and the diff ate itself. perhaps thats why they change the axle some times.
my leaks are always slow. i drove 2k with the leak i think and didnt lose more than 2oz (but you know how oil spreads and it looks much worse than it is)

Just had to replace rear wheels for first time at 133,200 miles. One of the mechanics at work did the job, but apparently didn't do it quite right. They just pulled the left axle out again and the seal had a tear in it.
For the record, this is the first repair I've had to do on this truck. I sure hope this isn't about to start a new trend.
