I had my Truetrac installed a couple of weeks ago and I had not noticed any leaks before the install. So I got under the truck yesterday to change the rear diff oil and saw leaks on both sides covering the rear brake assemblies. Now I understand that I have the seals leaks BUT could the installation be the cause or it is simply a coincidence and this would have happened anyway?

It is possible that the shop that installed the TT did not clean the area up after installation (that was in my case). To be sure, I would wipe the area clean and check it frequently. If it starts showing up again then it should be fixed.
The manual says that the seals should always be replaced when the axle is pulled. However, this is a known problem with Titans. When I take mine in I am not going to say a word about the TT. I'm going to say the diff is fine... fix the seal. Warranty work, imo.

I also noticed oil around my vent. Is this normal? I'm thinking to do the rear axle breather vent mod, but I want to make sure I get the attachment that threads in properly...
Finaly going in next tuesday for the axle replacement

I have rechecked the leaks and it seems these are indeed the stains left after the installation. I will now have to check frequently to make sure these are not the leaks. Anyway I am now thinking of doing the breather vent mod but I am concerned that for some on this forum it did not work or worked the opposite way.
I ran the factory diff fluid that the service department put in after my seal repalcement for a couple of months. I checked it today and it looked terrible! It was pitch black and had a terribly stench!!!! I Replaced it with Mobil 1 which I had been running prior to the seal replacement. What kind of crappy diff fluid is Nissan using?

Well they finaly fixed mine, but didn't give me the new axle they ordered....They just pressed in a new seal and said they are no longer replacing entire axles for this problem. The guy there said there has been some problems of the seals not being pressed in properly.
Filed my complaint right now. My rear passanger axle seal was replaced today. It was in the shop 2 times in the last week and the dealer didn't catch it so I took it somewhere else.

It is my understanding the axles are leaking rear diff fluid. If so, it make sense to keep driving the Titan until enough leaks out to ruin the diff, especially if short trips are in the future.
