Re: Fram Sure Drain??

I don't want to have to jack up my truck everytime I change the oil. That would be harder than just using the factory plug... Is there a way to cut down the part that sticks up into the oil pan to avoid this issue?

Or would I be better off using the Fumoto? Is there a way to attach a hose to it?

Thanks.

Re: Fram Sure Drain??

I actually used the Fram on my first Titan. Didn't put it on my second one as I was a little frustrated about how slow it would drain. Is the Fumoto any faster?

Re: Fram Sure Drain??

I run the Fumoto valve on mine. Rock solid little gadget. Solid brass with a quality check valve. I paid right around $25-30 for it.

So can you connect a hose to the Fumoto like the fram?

They work really well.

Allows you to do a hot change if you don't feel like waiting for the oil to cool down.

Definitely cuts down on the mess. No splash and splatter.

I did notice that if you want to get the last 1/4" of oil out of the pan, you have to unscrew the plug still. The way it is made, it sits pretty high up into the pan to allow for the valve and such.
That is a great part...only if they made some type of lock to prevent some one from ever draining your oil with out you knowing about it...(i.e. you could be out watching a movie, come back to your truck drive it a couple of yards and your engine locks because of no oil...Some idiot intentionally drained out your oil..)..I know it may be a one in a million, but it could happen ..It is a good product though...

FUMOTO does make a model with a nipple on it for a hose. I have the FUMOTO on my Titan and it works great, no mess, no fuss.

Re: Fram Sure Drain??

You can order one with or without a nipple. I got the one without. It's your choice. If I had it to do over again I would probably get the one with the nipple.

Yeah, there is that chance, I guess. Who goes around crawling under vehicles looking for Fumoto valves though??? Heck, your neighbors wouldn't even know you had one on there even if you changed your oil in the driveway in broad daylight. There's a pretty good chance you'd notice 6.5 qts of oil on the ground too.

Exactly. When it comes down to it, anyone could take an adjustable wrench and drain the oil from every car in the parking lot if they really wanted to... Nice product!

Re: Fram Sure Drain??

Which one exactly do I need? Too many options to understand with no pictures. F series T series etc.

I'd like to get the one with the nipple for a hose.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FUMOT...spagenameZWDVW

They have a good chart on there.

Not sure this would be safe on an offroad vehicle? For far is this thing going to stick down?

Is the F-103 N-Series what I am lookgin for?

F-103: Valve

F-103 N: Valve with nipple

Yes, get the F-103 N if you want the nipple.

As far as size goes, based on looking at the picture of it, I'd say it's gonna stick out at least 1" beyond where it mates with the pan.
