Has anyone swapped axles on a 4x4 yet?

I was wondering if anyone has swapped out the stock front axles for some custom aftermarket ones. My passenger side front axle broke while offroading in Azusa this past Labor day weekend. The part to replace it is well over $700 not including labor. I wanted to know if anyone has swapped for an upgrade because the stock setup blows. I was thinking dana 44's.

As far as anyone knows, there are no aftermarket drivetrain parts. Standard D44 IFS axles will most likely not work since the Titan's front axle is a hybrid Nissan/D44 axle.

I would just go back with the factory type axles. For one main reason, you want the axle to break before the front diff shatters. Replacing an axle now and then is a whole lot cheaper than exploded diffs. If you really want to go hard core and don't want to worry about breaking stuff, go solid axle (expensive).

A live axle with links and coilovers could be pretty cool.

Someone did a SAS on his Titan- can't remember the name- but the truck is beastly.

I remember seeing this post too, but neither can I remember who it was. That's the only one I remember seeing though.
