2 Gauge Issues

First, the oil pressure gauge is pegged at "H" as soon as i turn on the truck. Checked the oil and its fine. I'm thinking the sending unit is bad...

Second the 4-LO light flickers off and on intermittantly. Ive been told this could be the ATP sensor?

Truck runs like a top...so im not too concerned...but i gotta get it fixed!

oil pressure gauge runs High when you start the truck, after it warms will go to normal. This has been discussed on here plenty of times before.

not sure about 4wd stuff.

Re: 2 Gauge Issues

I have some concerns over the oil pressure gauge myself. Do you get higher pressure readings at startup? I understand that after awhile, the pressure should peak at the midpoint on the gauge. But, my concern is that i get scared during the first 10 mins. of driving when that needle goes near that High mark. I've switched oil filters and one seem to have lower pressure upon startup and the first 10 mins. of driving than another oil filter. I made a similar thread about this earlier and you should go take a look at it if there's anything you find interesting. Let me know by replying on my thread. Thanks.

I believe it shouldn't peg at the H mark unless you have a scorn/worn/bad oil sending unit. You might want to look into it and let me know.

My oil pressure would peak somewhere at the midpoint (for one oil filter) or a little below the 3/4 mark (for a different oil filter).

Re: 2 Gauge Issues

I never noticed any abnormal pressure readings, my oil guage pretty reads in the normal range all the time, might want to get your sending unit checked out and the switch.

Re: 2 Gauge Issues

I did do a search and didnt find much.

The needle stays pegged at "H" (instantly from startup to shutdown).

The truck runs perfectly fine underload and normal driving which leads me to believe its the sending unit. I was just trying to get confirmation before i fork out the cash for the parts.

Re: 2 Gauge Issues

My oil gauge runs high as well till she is full warmed up. Never had a vehicle with such a seneitive oil press gauge but I guess as long as it is accurate all is fine

Re: 2 Gauge Issues

It is high until the truck warms up. Yes you get higher readings when you first start the truck up. After it's warmed up it goes to were it is supposed to be.

Re: 2 Gauge Issues

Mine peaks at below the 3/4 line (just somewhat above the midpoint). I think it has to do with the oil filters? What oil filters are you guys using? I've been using pureone's and wix/napa's. I also think the ambient temp. plays a role in how the pressure is elevated at startup and during the first 10 mins. of driving.

Mine does this too, there's a TSB for it but I just haven't taken it in yet. Check out this link: http://www.nissantechinfo.com/nissan...RefNo=NTB04036

Hope that helps!
