Rear Diff Question.
I change my rearend fiuld every 3rd oil change because I tow alot. Everytime I unscrew the plug air comes out. Is it normal for there to be air pressure in the rearend? Just woundering. The oil is very clean each time.

There is a check valve on the upper ride side of the rear axle housing that is supposed to release excess pressure. Alot of people have been experiencing rear axle seal leaks, so maybe there is a problem with the check valve not working correctly, or getting plugged up. Some people have replaced the check valve with a fitting & vent hose. If you have a 4x4, the front axle is vented with a hose rather than a check valve.
