Rearend swap in L.A. area?

I have had my rearend fail on me three times now and thankfully they have all been covered by warrenty. Seeing as i only have 3k left on warrenty, i need to figure out a way to permanently fix my titans rearend problem. My first thought is to throw in a Dana 60, but im not sure if a new spider gear some other modification would do the trick.

I go to school in the south bay and im wondering if anyone in the area has installed a new rearend or done modifications to their rear axle that could aid me with some info. That would be awesome, thanks.

Re: Rearend swap in L.A. area?

I found a 3.36 axle used and bought all new parts and had it completely rebuild and at the same time put in Detroit TruTrac 7000 miles already and still going strong with me abusing her at the drag strip every 2-3 weeks.

Re: Rearend swap in L.A. area?

I put a 9" in mine with 4.10 gears. Besides being a pain to get the computor to work, it performs great. Try PDC in brea. Talk to Jay, the owner, he knows rear-ends. I dont have his number, but you can 411 it. Also, as much as Dynatrac was not really hip on working on "jap" trucks, they did build a set of 60's for the 4wheeler project truck. I did notice that it didnt have the speed sensors on the rear at the expo. Stover, what'd you guys do to get it working?

Re: Rearend swap in L.A. area?

Yeah, it not really anything "ford" as its an aftermarket housing, strange gears and carrier, quaif lsd, wilwood brakes, etc. Im in barstow at a race right now, so i cant post pics but i will tomorrow. There are some pics around here somewhere though. I recently gave Aquaholic a spin and i think he was pretty impressed with how the truck feels with gears.
