Noises after tranny change?

Some might already know that after draining my tranny and rear diff., i now get some noises and slight vibrations underneath. The noises are constant while cruising, and when slowing down, noises also slows down. Vibrations only occurs during acceleration and cruising, not while at idle. I was hoping for someone if they had any experience with this can give some advice or help?

Im thinking of some tranny problem? I checked the tranny fluid level, it's right near below the full mark. I filled the rear diff. all the way till it starts to drip out. No visible leaks anywhere to be found.

Engine oil and filter is checked out okay also.

Re: Noises after tranny change?

Did you use the right grade gear oil for the diff? Tranny don't know unless it;s true that the Nissan J-matic is the only tranny fluid that should ever go in to these trucks. Could just be a coincedence that your noticeing the vibration and noise after the service. Other than the wrong fluids or not enough fluids there should be no change.

Re: Noises after tranny change?

Yes i used to correct matic J, poured in about 4.5 qts and level is right near full or just below it.

Its always noticeable when i start to accelerate and while during cruising or normal driving. The thumping sounds slows down as when ill be decelerating.

Right after the drain and fill, i drove about 20 mins. and that's when i first notice it. Im hoping it's just coincidence...
Do anyone notice how the engine rev's after the tranny drain? Mine seems to upshift quicker and drops down alot more... (let's say before the drain, the truck would shift at 2200 rpm from stop and drop down to about 1800 rpm. Now after this drain, it would shift at 2100 rpm from stop and drop down to about 1600 rpm). There's no jerking of any kind.. it's all smooth shifts from what i can tell.

Re: Noises after tranny change?

4.5qts came out just from the tranny pan? That's a lot but the tranny holds a lot more. Not sure how much more.

I would say if it's making some nasty clunks take it to the dealer and have them look at it. I don't know what it could be.
