What all is included in the 30k Maintenance and how much$

WHat all does this really include if you get a dealership to do it?

and what is a normal price I should expect?

A local dealership told me $840 while I have it in there for a warranty job ....

A dealership about 30 miles from me said $425!

A big headache, a busted radiator, and one less shoe or boot because you put it up someones arse. $840 is way to much I paid $515 but had problems check the link.

It all depends on the shop rate of the dealership and what products they use in the 30k service.

A lot of the stuff on that list you don't really have to do at 30k. The trans flush, coolant flush, front and rear diff service, transfer case service, and the fuel system service are the ones you should do at 30k.

I recently spoke with Nissan and two local dealers. The tranny doesn't need flushing till at least 100k. Waste of money.

Please read your owners manual for "suggested" services.

Trans and coolant flushes....front and rear diff and transfer case service should NOT be neccessary in the FIRST 30,000 miles...unless you live in extreme dusty areas.

This is another ploy by the stealerships to sell...sell...sell.

And get you to spend...spend...spend!

How hard is it to do the Transmition Flush, and for someone without a SUPER amount of tools, what all is involved in the fuel system service other than changing the fuel filter?

I'm pretty sure I can do the transfer case and front diff myself, and I'm getting a new rear axle so thats taken care of. havent done the coolant before but I can't imagine it being super difficult?

The trick is to NOT go with what the dealer suggests; just tell them you want only the items from the little Nissan maintenance book done.

To do a complete trans flush you need a trans flush machine. The fuel system service includes (where I work anyway) 3 cans of BG product. Fuel injector cleaner which is injected into the fuel rail, 44k which is dumped into the fuel tank, and throttle body cleaner which is sprayed into the throttle body to clean the inside of the throttle chamber. The fuel filter is in the tank and does not need to be changed.

Ya what BKW said, don't do it. You can do most of your maint. by yourself. The radiator does not need to be flushed at 30k. Keep your oil changed, replace the air filter every few k and you wil be fine. You should'nt have to change the fuel filter for about another 30 to 50 k miles.

Rememeber 30k miles is nothing now days.
