Where can I get Amsoil and how many quarts does a flush take? I am getting close to 20k miles and wanted to flush it out.

Re: Amsoil ATF Compatible!!!!!!

So is it 12 Quarts total for the flush or do I need 12 Quarts for the flush and another 4-5 to fill it back up? I want to make sure the dealership will do it, but I guess there is always Jiffy Lube, might get a quote for them I don't have $375 laying around for a flush

Re: Amsoil ATF Compatible!!!!!!

I just mine and I'm doing a flush soon.

Is Nissan Matic-J Really really liquidy like this amsoil stuff? The amsoil stuff reminds me of fruit punch!

Re: Amsoil ATF Compatible!!!!!!

one of the techs at my work has a brother in law who is the parts guy at nissan, i asked him about other atf's that are compatible with matic j and he said that he doesnt recommend it, i tried to get an answer out of him but he didnt really answer why. but he did hook me up with some matic j atf and the nissan 75w 140 rear diff gear oil. 6 bucks a quart for atf and 12 for gear oil.

and to clarify for those who dont know...

titan trans flush = 8 quarts
spill and fill = 5
rear diff = 2
not sure about coolant i didnt do that one today

you can do flushes around 35-40k but for us bigger tires folk we should do it between 20 and 30k.

Re: Amsoil ATF Compatible!!!!!!

I thought the Subaru ATF J spec was only $5 a quart from what I've been reading using the search?

I just put the Amsoil ATF in and did a flush. It takes 12 Quars for the flush (properly) I watched them do it!

Nissan guys will ALWAYS recommend Matic-J, and Nissan Genuine Oil Filters etc. That does not make them the best...
