Pic of inside of transfer case

Here's a picture of the inside of the Titan transfer case. I took it with my cell phone so it's not that great and I had to make it a little bigger but it gives you an idea of the internal workings of the unit. I had to take it apart because a guy drove over a concrete block and broke the drive shaft. The drive shaft left some pieces in the transfer case so I replaced the housing and seal along with the drive shaft.

Re: Pic of inside of transfer case

great picture titantech, even if it is a bad one.

Hey maybe you can answer a question regarding front diffs. Nissan changed the recommendations on the rears to 75w140, but not on the front. When you service front diffs, are you putting in 90 or 140? This question was asked in another thread, i don' think i saw an answer though. Also are you noticing that factory fills for the diffs are way off? My rear was low by like 700ml. Thanks.

Re: Pic of inside of transfer case

The day I took that picture I didn't have my digital camera with me at work but it gives you an idea.

When we service the front diffs we put in GL-5 80-90. I suppose you can put synthetic in it and not have a problem. I haven't noticed the factory fliud levels to be low on the diffs but when we get the truck off the hauler we take it and put a couple miles on it before we do anything else. Therefor the fluid would be warmed up and is usually full. I'll have to check it before I drive it to be able to answer your question. It is possible though. I've noticed some of the cars we get in are a little low on engine oil.
