Possible Driveline Wind-up??

The family and I were going out this morning and there was ice and slush on the roads and all when we left the house so I left it in 4wdH when we started out(poss bad idea here now). Went to a coffee shop and sat there for a while just sipping on coffee and talking. The little lot behind the shop was pretty clear when we parked, and I was not thinking about the 4wdH. Went to leave and putting the truck in reverse, backed up. At the end of my going in reverse, the truck kinda did a seizing as if I was maybe hitting a curb so I gave it a little more and put it in drive to go forward. The truck kind of lunged a couple times...I immediately started thinking it was the diff, so I took put it in 2wd and slowly went forward to see if it would persist. The jerking stopped and so I cleared the lot in to an empty lot nearby. Pulled out my manual and jumped out to look at the diff. Everything seems ok, but after doing some reading, it's looking like symtoms of possible driveline wind-up...anyone know how I could check for this?? I'm really hoping that I did not just screw something up real bad with this!! Could really use some help here. **Don't get me wrong, not complaining about my truck, just admitting a dumb*** thing I could have done and making sure it wasn't.

Normal, nothing to worry about.

Our Titans have a "part time" 4 wheel drive system- they can only be used when on a surface that the tires will slip on like ice, snow, mud, and not left on full time when driving on surfaces with good traction.

When in 4WD, our transfer cases lock the front and rear drive shafts together, allowing no difference in their speeds. Unlike the full-time systems on many SUV's there is no differential action to the transfer case to allow the front and rear driveshafts to turn at different speeds.

When you drive with the front wheels turned, a front wheel will be rotating at a much greater speed than the opposite rear wheel. Since the drive shafts are locked together in 4WD, the CV joints on the front axles wrap up unless the tire is on a slippery surface so that the tire can slip some. This why you can't drive a part time 4WD system on a dry road-something has to give.

Re: Possible Driveline Wind-up??

But that "something to give" isn't a problem here right? Feels like everything is pretty normal since then, so I'm really thinking/hoping that you're right in the area of this being normal or whatever.
