J-Matic is Transmission Fluid.
Engine Coolant, you can use Prestone, or other Anti-Freeze.

Re: engine coolant

In stock form you have green. Don't put garbage in your truck, get the Nissan long life antifreeze.

Here are the MSDS sheets for Nissan LL and Peak Global coolants. Check out the formulations, it’s the closest match I have seen so far.

Re: engine coolant

This may help you,on any warranty situations,Nissan will deny the claim if the dealer did not use OEM ATF or Coolant. These are the only 2 fluids Nissan is worried about contaminating their systems.

Re: engine coolant

Yeah pretty safe statement,by the time the corrosion in the cooling jackets in your cylinder heads eat through you'll be so far out of warranty they won't even care.
My point Leadsled is don't just dump any old crap at Pep Boys in there.

Re: engine coolant

I think they want you to avoid the Dex- cool compatible stuff. You should be able to find something at the auto store, but like nissan mike said just dont dump anything in there.

Re: engine coolant

hmmm, well the stuff i bought definatly wasnt cheap, but it wasnt as much as stock stuff. after i figure out what thermo works or i put the stocker back in maby ill try the stock stuff for piece of mind. i usually dont keep trucks past 100k miles long anyways, i do a lot of driving for work. i would never use dex cool in a non GM, its orange and sopossed to be for aluminum radiators?

Nooooo not true anymore GM original dex cool was orange, but has since been reformulated a bit Toyota red is almost the same thing as dex cool and almost all the coolants are dexcool compatible. Its getting harder to get real green.
