armada, Park/Reverse to drive thunk

Hey guys i know this is the wrong boad but dont know of any armada forums..

My wifes armada thunks sometimes when you shift from park to drive or reverse to drive. Doesent do it all the time, maybe once a week... However when it DOES do it it sounds like you just netural dropped it at 6K rpms... or about the same as a 5lb sledge hammer hitting the floor boards... it has done this sence it was new and the dealer cant find the problem.. It almost sound like its the rear end explodes, Also if its loaded down with a trailer you get it more often than with out a trailer...

Re: armada, Park/Reverse to drive thunk

Set the brake and make sure the vehicle's not moving at all before you put it in Park. We've had stickshifts for years and years, and this is the one thing that it was hardest to get my wife to do: Stop, set the brake while still in gear. Does the car move? Set the brake again. Only then put the car in Park...
