Better? How?....There's no hidden power in another set of plugs...get the OE plugs, just don't buy them from the dealer...

If you don't mind the cost then go with the iridium plugs. No they likely won't give you more power over a copper or platinum plug at first, but put some miles on them then compare. The iridium's act like a fresh plug for a long period of time. I have no experience with iridiums in 4 stroke engines, but in our drag 2 stroke snowmobile engines, as well as my trail sleds they make a huge difference in that I don't have to change plugs as frequently to have the engines running optimum vs a copper plug. In that application it ends up being cheaper running the $10 iridiums then the frequently changed $2.50 copper plugs.
Apples and oranges...How many miles do you have on the OE plugs right now?

Some people piss on the $80-90 it cost to run the iridiums. I agree it is apples and oranges to compare the two applications. But thats not the point. A spark plug in a two stroke takes considerable more abuse then it would in a 4 stroke, if a certain plug stands up to that abuse better then another in a 2 stroke app., you can bet you will get the same benefit in a 4 stroke. Besides cost, there is no downside to running an iridium plug. The gap will stay much more consistant throughout the life of the plug, they are just about impossible to foul and remain free of carbon multiple times longer then a copper plug. Is it worth the added cost? To some maybe to others maybe not, if you can afford them there is certainly a benefit to be had with them, thats my point.

HOW MANY MILES did your stock plugs go? Were you dropping a cyl?
If spark plugs cost twice as much, but go twice as long, then it's still a wash...
Maybe my original post wasn't clear...Manys guys who don't know better buy "trick" sparkplugs thinking they will pick up performance...Not happening. I'm trying to keep more of their money in their wallet...

If they last longer then your getting better performance from them for a longer period, before they start to wear down and you don't have to change them as often which is a PITA IMO.

Somebody should start a thread asking when guys are changing their plugs and why...

I'm changing mine @ 33,000 just to see if there is a difference. I pulled one of the plugs last night at it looked pretty decent other than some discoloration and build-up, which is nothing that a wire brush can't handle. I'm still going to change them just for shi%$ and giggles.

What kinda plugs are you gonna replace them with Army?
I'm installing Denso Iridiums this time around. Next time I'll probably go with NGK IV Iridium. I just want to see if there is a noticable difference. It's kinda like my own little version of a litmus test...lol

Both are very good plugs. Ive always been partial to Denso cuz Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki use them in production bikes. I always kinda figured there was a reason for that. How does that apply to the Titan you ask? It doesnt! lol

LOL, you never know... Although I don't expect to see a substantial difference in performance, I'm sure that there has to be some kind of improvement, even if it's the plugs' life span. I don't know what I'm talking about, but it sure did sound good, right?

Ok, I'm still new here so I can only comment based on my old Frontier and my old Expedition. This engine has coils that get a lot hotter than normal plug wires.
Ford owners learned the hard way that anything other than Motorcraft plugs can really f-up the engine. Some were actually spitting out the plugs. Also, with aluminum threads, you have to be super careful not to cross thread or you will be in a world of mess. Dirt, dust, moisture, etc. can get down in the boot, so watch out for that.
Unless you are having a misfire...why mess with it?
