When I turn on the "tow mode" on my Titan I cannot tell a difference in the way the transmission shifts. In my chevy there was a noticable difference - the rpm's stayed up a good bit longer before shifting to the next gear when accelerating. Can you guys tell a difference?

Depends on what you are towing. Get on the gas or on a hill and you should see it hang onto the gears longer.

Yes. It's not as radical as what you describe though. I haven't really played with it when I'm not hooked, but when I am towing, I'd say yeah. It makes a difference.

Thanks everyone. I haven't towed anything yet. I did carry my 4-wheeler to the deer camp the other day & that's when I couldn't tell any difference. I won't worry about it until I have a chance to tow something relatively heavy.

That will be when you notice not only the tow mode. That's also when your Titan, the WHOLE PACKAGE will really shine.

Well - I had to haul in some topsoil for my yard. When they loaded the topsoil into the truck, it obviously had a great deal of weight in the back. I do not have any levelling kit in the truck, and the rear of the truck was lower than the front. I used the tow mode when returning home, and I still cannot tell a difference. The trans temp gauge stayed the same returning as going, so I guess it wasn't straining. It just seems like I should be able to tell a difference in the rpm's.

I think the tow mode just slightly alters the shift points. I too thought is was not working an had dealer check it. I have since passed the 500 mile mark and towed the boat with it, still can't tell it does anything. GM stuff makes a huge difference and that was what I was hoping for.
