Not a Titan

A friend owns a 2004 Murano. Everytime she starts it, there is profuse white smoke from the exhaust. No trouble codes, rough idling, pinging, etc. She took it to service and they can't find anything wrong but suggest "bad gas", and she needs to run it all out, put more in. Well, she did and it's still smoking! Any ideas? By the way, it just turned over 40,000 miles.
Thanks!

Re: Not a Titan

By any chance is the coolant level low? White smoke can be indicative of coolant burn from a bad head gasket. Otherwise, bad gas (water in the fuel) could possibly be the culprit.

I googled it and found several sources stating white smoke is coolant/water burning with the fuel.

Re: Not a Titan

Check the oil. If it looks foamy, you've got coolant in the oil. Most likely culprit is a head gasket.
