It is, basically. The first Titans(04) came with a steel, smooth cover. The 05's and later came with the aluminum cover with heat dissipating fins.

In addition to stouter inner and outer bearing materials and seals, the differential now uses a stronger 4-pinion setup unlike the 2-pinion configuration in the 04-07 models. See the Sept 07 issue of Four Wheeler.
