tranny shifting ruff...

it shift hard, it's kind of like a rear end clunk but like worse I'd say.. it revs to right about shift point tapers and shifts very fast and definetly not in a good way... It does it mostly at very slow speed.. I'm gonna try to get it in next week.. and may not drive it til then.. I have like just under 33k so it should be covered, but seeing as how they don't like me and I've had two rear ends replaced I don't know what's gonna go down... we'll see I did a search and havn't found anything similar. it shifts firmer than my buddies F150 with his chip set to firm shifting... I tried to give it like 1/2 throttle today rolling into it and once I got to a certain point I heard a loud clunk kinda sound as it shifted... I know it has slop between park-N-R so I'm imagining the U-joints aren't in prime condition... I also know when I put the e-brake on whenever I park even on flat ground it seems to roll til the tranny clicks... I noticed that a few months ago but didn't think it would lead to anything like this... anyhow, I'm getting a little sick of this and hope to hell it gets fixed so I can attempt to trade it in for something else.. loved this truck but at this point I'm a little more irritated with it than happy with it... little as an under statement sucks I just paid for a DLS 8" 2 way comp set too to beef up my front stage and I recently added a center channel amp to the dash pod mids and have been working towards making it more SQ friendly

Re: tranny shifting ruff...

the slipping you get stock is from your torque converter, but when you have a tranny that begins to slip as it gets older its something more serious and internal which means big $$$

but the stock valve bodies on the trannies arent that strong, ie people with the superchargers have been blowing them out.

here is a picture of the valve body:

Re: tranny shifting ruff...

so... that goes into the tranny? how do I go about getting it off? I'd love to just get one from the junkyard if it's easy to pull off... I'm fine with the stock one I suppose I could send one in when I have money and am not using my truck... do I have to drop the tranny to get it out and in?
