Lightbulb Transmission Filter????

Is there an actual transmission filter located in the tranny after you pull the pan off? I've posted about a contamination problem whenever my radiator busted and i have to go in a clean but i have started ordering parts. Even if there is has anyone mounted an external transmission filter. I see the kits in summit going for around 30-40 dollars and figure since i have to flush the whole system now i might as well go ahead and mount one up. Any info is appriciated.

Re: Transmission Filter????

It is a screen not a filter in the transmission.

Is that something your regular Titan owner can do? Or does it require a special machine?

Re: Transmission Filter????

Thinking about just going ahead and ordering a remote transmission filter from summit and being the tester for it.

Re: Transmission Filter????

It does have a filter, but it is all aluminum and not really removeable. It looks like a regular filter but it is bolted with about 12 bolts and a very fine screen that cleans itself. Just did the service last week and looked at it and touched it.

You would still ahve to clean the OEM tranny screen. Just save your $ for some good tranny fluid(AMSOIL), and keep it serviced. Shouldnt be any more issues.
