Trans Filter

When changing the Trans fluid do you change the filter.
In the manual it does not talk about a trans filter.
Is there actually a trans filter.

Re: Trans Filter

There is no trans filter, just a metal screen inside the thrans! That is why they recommend the trans flush at 30000!

Re: Trans Filter

My dealer said there was one but it didn't need to be changed. I am in the process of changing mine. I had a question about draining. Is there a drain plug or do you have to drop the pan? Dealer told me if you don't do the flush you leave about 3-4 quarts of old fluid. Then he said that a drain was fine, thats the way it has been done for years. Who knows????

Re: Trans Filter

How many quarts does it take when doing the drain and fill? I let the dealer do it the first time so i dont know how much was used. Thinking i may see how money can be saved, if it isnt that much it'll go back to the dealer.

Re: Trans Filter

Tech told me 16 quarts to do the flush...I think a few are lost due to the flushing process......

There is only a screen, no filter to be changed...
