Shifting vibration

When I shift from my first gear to my second, my truck shakes or vibrates. I think its the axle but I got no idea. Anyone else had the same problem?

Re: Shifting vibration

Hey, I got the same thing that is happening to my truck but it does it between second and third and only if i'm accelerating hard. mines been doing it for about a year now. it's not getting worse or better. how long have you noticed yours? do you have any kind of lift on it? i've taken it to tranny shops. all say it's not the tranny. it's from the drivetrain. axle wrap, bad u joint, shims may need to be added, etc. let me know if you find anything,

Re: Shifting vibration

I had the same thing in my 07 titan, felt like driving down a washboard when it upshifted 2nd-3rd and banged when manually downshifted 3rd-2nd. Took it to the dealer and they put a diff, t-case, drive line. Finally had the trans replaced and the vibration went away. Had to go back cause they forgot to install the front driveline, But no vibration. May not be the cause of your vibration, but was the cause of mine.

I got a 6" PC lift on my truck, im still not sure what the vibration might be. Mine has been doing it for about a month. The dealer told me it was normal and that they didnt see any problems with it. I think they are wrong. What you guys think?

from the time you noticed till now, is it getting worse?? I checked my tranny fluid and it was kind of low. I added a little bit of tranny oil. It still does it, but not as worse. like i mentioned earlier, mines been doing it for about a year now. when i took my truck in to the dealer when i first noticed it, they said it's from the lift ( i have a 1inch block in the rear). i'm not worried about it. if it was a tranny issue, i'm sure i would of known by now.

When I lifted my truck and added 35" wheels, I noticed a difference when it shifts. I think its normal since its shifting at the wrong shift points, which causes it to lag a bit. It makes sense, and I think your dealer is right-- not really an issue.

HOWEVER, if you add a CAI, like the K&N 77-6012, the small increase in power is just enough to make this problem disappear. But... I just saw your profile and you have a K&N intake... hmmm Have you cleaned your air filter recently, maybe its bad gas, dirty fuel injection, I don't know... maybe I am confusing your "vibration" with a slight loss or lag in power when it sometimes shifts... I don't get any serious vibrations. I'm still waiting to install my K&N, but I know it will solve my issue.

I clean my K&N every time I changed my oil (every 3k miles). i always use premium gas so i dont think the injectors are dirty. It feels like a tranny or axle problem to me. The dealer keeps telling me its normal, i dont think it is.
