Front Diff Fluid Change - Low Level

I know this has been discussed before, but I'll go ahead and join the choir of people who've found their front diff fluid level low. I changed the fluid today and replaced the factory fluid with Mobil 1 75W-90 Synthetic. When I initially checked the level through the fill hole, I could not make contact with the oil level inside with my pinky (which is the very technical way to check the level according to the service manual!). Anyway, all seems good now, with the proper oil level now in the diff. So, I encourage anyone who hasn't checked the front diff level since purchasing the truck to do so as soon as you can - it may be too low.

Re: Front Diff Fluid Change - Low Level

I did this for my 2005 at 16000 miles when I found my transfer case was leaking and the fluid was low. After the dealer fixed the initial leak - I used the Mobil 1 synthetic knowing it was a better lubricant. It was too little too late - because running low damaged the bushings inside the transfer case. Now at 21600 my truck is at the dealer waitng for the new case while I drive around the dealer loaner car - a magnificent 1995 Maxima with 125000 miles on the clock that shakes and rattles over every bump. I really can't wait to get my Titan back - I have alot of sheet rock to pick up from Home Depot to finish my project on the house. I hope your front diferential was not as low on fluid as my transfer case was before you found the problem. Things just don't keep on working very long without enough lubrication, regardless of who made them.
