Re: best oil to use in my titan

5W30 is the best weight and Yes Synthetic is better. Mobil one and Pennzoil Platinum are the better one's you can buy off the shelf. Royal Purple is good too.

Re: best oil to use in my titan

First of all welcome to Titan Talk. The Motorcraft oil is good stuff, I use the 5W20 semi synthetic in my daughters Mustang and have used Motorcraft in many other Fords I have had, and no problems on that either. Is synthetic really better for a street driver? Synthetics are made to with stand heat and not break down like conventional oil under those same high temp conditions. So do we really benefit from syn in a daily? In a street driven vehicle not used for towing or used under stressful conditions probably not. But allot of us just like using the best oil you can buy in our vehicles. Everyone has a differnt opionion on oil so what the best? Who know, who cares, just use your brand. I would say if you like Motorcraft use the recommended weight and drive on!

Re: best oil to use in my titan

I use AMSOIL 5W-30. My TITAN seems to love this stuff. I also run AMSOIL in my wife's vehicle. You will find that opinions vary greatly when it comes to the topic of what oil is best. Personally, I would recommend AMSOIL to anyone looking for a superior oil.

I've heard that about both Quaker State and Pennzoil from a number of techs, not just forum gossip.

Re: best oil to use in my titan

Another added benefit of synthetic is extended drain intervals, so you can take that into consideration. If you plan on changing the oil every 4K or so, then stick with conventional and save some $$. I personally use Amsoil 5W-30 in my Titan and have been very pleased with it. I've used Royal Purple in the past on other vehicles with good results too.

I run amsoil 5w-30 with amsoil EO filters, the truck loves it. I am swapping the tranny and diffs over on Friday to all Amsoil FTW!

I just switched over to mobil 1 synthetic at 15,000 miles. I''ve also been looking at the royal purple stuff too.

Re: best oil to use in my titan

Most of the synthetics posted in above threads will do fine. It's not so much the oil but how often you change it also.
