Most of the people *****in about gas mileage are people who have just started driving a truck. I have driven many trucks through the past 20 years. ***** So I am not complaining. I still love this truck.
Same here. I have an 07 XE 2WD with 18k miles on it. I have driven it from GA to TX and back 3 times, 2000 miles round trip, and I consistently get 20.5 to 21 miles to the gallon on the highway. There is a drop to about 15 around town for me. I definitely don't keep my foot in it, but I sure ain't afraid to get in it every now and then. With that being said, I'v owned 2 V6 Dodge Dakotas, F150 with the 302, Expedition with 4.6L, Jeep Cherokee with 4.0IL6 and a Toyota Hilux with the 22R 4 banger. With the exception of the Toyota which got unreal gas mileage and the Jeep Cherokee which 20mpg no matter how I drove it, my Titan beats all the others for MPG not to mention its one bad A$$ truck. Quit'cher *****in!
I bought my Pro-4X a week ago, I put some Summit Racing stickers on it and it jumped to 400 hp! I figure if I put some Hyundai stickers on it, I'll break 30 mpg easily!
Actually I've only got about 650 miles on her. I drive about an hour and 10 to work everyday (one way). I top the tank off (yeah, you're not supposed to do that) and get about 390 miles to the tank. I burn about 1/4 tank per day...that comes to about half the gas mileage my old Mazda B2500 manual 4 banger 4X2 got...also 1/4 tank a day with a 14 gal. tank. I think it comes out to 14 mpg. average. I'm putting a Banks system on this weekend. Gotta wait until the warranty's up before I add a CAI or anything.
And hey, just because we knowingly bought a sweet ride with crappy gas mileage, doesn't mean we can't look for ways to improve on that. It does, however, render void any right to complain about it!

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess if the original poster got 15 city/ 20.5-21 highway he probably wouldn't be "b!tchin", nor have started this thread in the first place. I'm not really sure what your contribution here is because it seems to me that your Titan isn't afflicted with the MPG woes that many of us have.
Threads like this wouldn't exist in the first place if we all got 15/21. I enjoy the heck out of my Titan, but in my experiences owning full-size trucks, and being around my friends most of whom own them as well, the Titan (at least mine) is the most fuel inefficient of the bunch.
And LOL at the "I make too much money to care about MPG" comments floating around this thread. Unless you're making an income in the high six figures, then MPG figures should care to you if you have any financial common sense at all. It's one thing to deal with the low MPG's of a truck for the benefits it affords us, it wholly another to act like monthly fuel bills in the $350-$600 range "ain't no thang".
You know, you may be right. Maybe I should just apply a Banks sticker and be done with it! I heard by adding fuzzy dice to the rearview mirror could help gas mileage too...

And I'm with you on that one...I knew what I was getting into when I bought the thing. I'll be pushing $400 a month just in gas. And it is indeed a big "thang". At least it's cheaper than my 71 Riviera. There's a pic in the gallery of her. I drove that thing to work when my little Mazda was in the shop and that 455 cost me about $30 a day. It would have been cheaper to rent a car!

Nissan Titan= Truck -> Truck=$hitty @$$ Gas Mileage!!! well compared to cars... haha... i knew that when i bought mine... i don't complain because it's not that bad at all compared to the other trucks on the market...
But i have discovered a possible MPG Glich... when i drive 'round 65-70 mph on the highway i get worse mileage than when i do 85+... yeah i know it doesn't really make sense but i've tested it a bunch of different times and it always turns out that if i get better mpg at 85+
Nissan Titan= Truck -> Truck=$hitty @$$ Gas Mileage!!!
Just like I said. Please name me one full size truck that does get "good" gas mileage. And at the same time has the power and capability of this truck. I am sure some Chevy guy will chime in blowin smoke about how his gets over 20mpg. Still love my truck

I get about 3 mpg worse than my 1999 Silverado. Hands down driving the Titan is well worth the drop in mpg, not to mention the 4k I saved in the purchase price vs. the new Chevy's
When my truck was new it was getting 12mpg. After my few mods, 93octane and break in it has been getting 15 to 16mpg. For me it seems to pay for the high octane v.s. sh*tty gas milage. Ill pay the extra 4 bucks for the performance anyway. Before i was driving a 03 s-10 zr2 and getting the same milage with the same couple of mods.
i consistently get 15.7 mpg's.i just bought my titan about a month ago and i think this is really good mpg's for a powerful 5.6 v-8 crew cab 4x4 with tow package.i coudlnt be happier with this truck. ohh yeah and that is driving around the city.

I don't think that the heavy truck theory is correct. my work truck a chevy 2500 6ltr hulling 9,500 and a I don't give a crap about gas peddel foot gets 13mpg. That thing runs 9hours a day.
I don't think the titan should get that crappy millage. How ever I'm not complaining. I get a free company truck free company gas.
3 weeks ago I traded in my 2 wheel dr 1986 S-10 extended cab p/u for a used 05 LE KC. Put the second full tank of gas in today and I have decided not to divide miles per gallon again.
This truck is such an improvement, I don't want the mpg's to wipe away my smile.
