Got Nissan to pay for my Pinion Seal out of Warranty
So I posted pics of my problem with my rear pinion seal leaking. I have just shy of 71k miles on the truck. I called the 800-Nissan1 number before I took it in and told them of the problem. I spoke with Liz Bell, a CSR first. She gathered my info. She forwarded the info to a regional CSR Manager. He called me this morning and told me that the dealership had no record of the problem being diagnosed. I told him it was diagnosed at another place. He informed me until Nissan confirmed it, he couldn't warranty it. So I took the truck in @ 1pm. They confirmed and called the CSR with the info. In short, I saved $250-$350 by them doing a "Goodwill Warranty". While there, I finally had the tranny fluid flushed/changed and found out my radiator cap was not holding pressure and blowing coolant all over my engine bay. So now it has a nice green film everywhere. Total bill for tranny flush and new rad cap, $200. Not too bad of a day!
