Re: TRUETRAC Mag-Hytech Diff Cover AND 3:73 GEARS

Well at 93lbs. for the Toyo 37s, (if I recall), I'd just get a tough Toyo 35 AT or BFG 36.5 AT.

I think even the 35" KM2 MTs are lighter than my 33.5" Toyo M/Ts, which are 73 pounds.

Take a look at Greg's tires, (know that you have but ...), not too aggressive looking [the tires] but function over form.

I realize the Bajas might weigh in pretty high too, but there are still great tires available in 35s-37s, that are a lot lighter than the Toyo M/Ts.

i know all the specs all to well. i've been looking for a set of 37" Baja Projects used. one BFG Baja Project runs about $400-$450 dollars, so you see, there's that issue. only reason i'm on the fence is because a guy up north is selling 4 Toyo 37x13.5x17 for 600 bucks and have over 60% treadlife left and is within driving distance. a bargain that is making me drool.... but if i had mee druthers i'd buy the BFG ATs in a 37x12.5x17

Re: TRUETRAC Mag-Hytech Diff Cover AND 3:73 GEARS

I'd go for the 37x12.5x17 BFG 36s ... at 69 pounds, (24 pounds ea. less than the Toyo M/Ts).
Even though my Titan is still o.k. w/73 lbs. tires, it nothing compared to my old 58 lbs KOs. (similar size too, so not so much the gearing difference, but the increased weight).

Dang, the KM2 37s are 73 pounders too. It would be a big difference between them and 93 pounders, even with the gears.
Tirerack also has a 37 AT Yokohama, but not a lot of info.

WHAT A STORY I HAVE FOR YOU! first off I almost did not make it to hooper's today, the day before yesterday I found my radiator was leaking, so I called Connell Nissan and I took it in Monday morning. well they installed a new radiator under warranty. So cool I left for Hooper's and on the freeway by 6:20 got the guys some donuts. so I'm rolling down the 405 North(I took the 405 all the way) and by the time I get to the 605 TRAFFIC! traffic and more fuggin traffic till the frickin Sepulveda Pass(LEAVE EARLY) 2 hour drive from Newport. Hooper's opens at 8:am so I am LATE! 2 cars ahead of me. well they got me on the rack almost right away.

HOOPER'S / TRUETRAC Mag-Hytech Diff Cover AND 3:73 GEARS

Then Wayne Hooper starts digging in on the BECHLYF Titan. At the front desk is Dave(right) a friend of the Hoopers that works there part time and of course Anthony Hopper(left). Here are a few pics of the Hooper experience.

The area is not that bad, it is a area full of wrecking yards and a big rig car wash. I walked down the street to get a bite to eat, there was a roach coach that stayed parked down the street. and look at what was across the street from the coach.

OK Wayne Hooper did a fantastic job! You will be there 7 hours including a lunch break. So take a book, game boy, a cot would have been nice to take a frickin NAP! I cant tell you how much better the truck run because getting off the freeway in route to hooper's the truck started running funny. and on the way home the truck ran like $hit? well I had to take the truck BACK to the dealer because when at hooper's we found the NEW radiator was leaking trany fluid at the bottom? so get to the dealer and a service guy is checking it out and pops the hood. hummm we will have to keep it over night, but what IS THIS? when they installed the radiator they wiggled loose the CAI and was sucking air straight into the throttle body. so after they fix the radiator AGAIN AND RECONNECT THE CAI I will give my comments on the performance of the gear swap. FUGGIN DEALER PIECE OF $HIT!
