I think 4th takes it to 90 then 5th drops in (overdrive) Th truck is so much more drivable love it! perfect for 35's but if yer thinking 37's I would go a little lower. 3:92 There you have it.

No man, not at all pulls hard better drive ability. on the Freeway it likes to cruise at between 65 and 70 around 2100 rpm and if I drop it in 4th at the same speed the rpm's jump to around 2600 also the exhaust sounds better because just cruising around 5-40 mph around town the rpm's are up and everything just sounds better. all around great mod but like I said if going with 37's I would like the same rpm range as I have now with 35's so 6% more tire = 6% more gear 3:92's just for the heck of it I will call Hooper's to see if that is do able. Called Anthony at Hooper's and No 3:92's But if running 37's you will only lose 126 RPM.

Not at all, 3:73's are perfect for 35's. Not too much and not too little, just right and the truck PULL'SI think I was expecting to ROAST the tires from a dead stop, with posi, on dry asphalt

I'm gonna have to cool it for little bit
Quote:
Differential Break-In
All new and reinstalled used gear sets require a break-in period to prevent damage from overheating. We find the best method is drive for 15 to 20 miles and then let the differential(s) cool down. Drive gently during the first 500 miles, keeping speeds down and not towing a trailer during break-in. Once 500 miles has been reached, change the differential fluid to flush out any metal or phosphorus coating particles from the new gears.

Got the Yokohamas mounted. I'm gonna start a new thread with pics in the Suspension section since that's where the guys who'd run them probably hang out the most.

Re: TRUETRAC Mag-Hytech Diff Cover AND 3:73 GEARS

Try puttin the stock tires and wheels back on and see what kind of burns you get! Im sure the new gears and Tru-Trac will fire them up nicely. The gear changes you did should have just put you back into your stock ratio.

Actually I don't know ? I had 2:94 gear's and 3:73 gear's are 27% lower ratio and I only increased tire size by 10%. With 35's I was doing around 1700 RPM in 5th at 70MPH and know I'm doing around 2159 RPM at 70 in 5th. So I should be getting 17% more RPM's. 17% more RPM than stock tires with 2:94?

10% of what? circumference is what counts, not the height.

Re: TRUETRAC Mag-Hytech Diff Cover AND 3:73 GEARS

I had 3.73 put in about last July and i also swapped in the factory e-lock diff. The gearing change is not as noticeable as you would think. But the nissan service guy who drove my truck said it was the quickest titan he has driven. IMO it is well worth $550 bucks, hell i paid way more than that and i have no complaints. And the e-locker is priceless in a 2wd, if you have the chance to grab one, get it.
