Seeping after vent mod

Quick info about my rear end: Had dealer put in new seals on both sides of the axle on 11/13/07 at around 47,800 miles due to seals appearing to seep out. Once the truck hit 50k miles, there were signs of seepage returning. I just recently did the vent axle mod on 5/10/08 at 55,281k miles, and now at 56k miles, it's starting to show a more progressive seepage. There are seepage showing around the toyota breather adapter and both sides of axle. I dont have my camera usb line anymore so i cant connect it to my comp. i can only save pics on my camera. wish i could take some shots. The nissan dealer that i brought in for my warranty repair work gave me some hard time because they said it was normal and couldnt do anything about the seals seepin blah blah... Is there anything else i could do or should i just wait til it starts leaking til i bring it in? Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Seeping after vent mod

Well after I did my mod I did have one start to seep, but I cleaned it off and kept an eye on it. And then it later stoppped. So I would keep an eye on it, and if it continues then I would take it in.

Re: Seeping after vent mod

Those seals should not leak, period. Before your 60k warranty runs out, go back to dealer and tell them to fix it. You might get a new diff out of it. Get a little upset that the diff is leaking again and yhour warranty is running out. You may want to put your little factory vent back before you take it in. Don't give them any excuses.

Re: Seeping after vent mod

Your axle seals should not leak, so definitely take it back to the dealer and have them address it. Seepage around the OEM vent is not unusual, but there should be no seepage from the seals. Good luck!
