Unhappy Losing gas milage

In the last couple of weeks my truck has gone from 14 mpg to 12 mpg. My truck is a 2004 with 45,000 miles on it. Any suggestion why I am losing gas miles?

Re: Losing gas milage

Dirty air filter, low tire pressure, more idleing?

Re: Losing gas milage

Have you switched to a K&N air filter?

Re: Losing gas milage

My mileage always decreases in the winter (winter fuel). It's normal.

Re: Losing gas milage

Don't much about winter fuel here in Florida but when we get cold snaps and the tire pressure dropps I get real gas mileage.
So maybe cold weather, gas and tire pressure would be my best guest.

Re: Losing gas milage

Ethanol is at a 10 cent per gallon advantage over unleaded gasoline your local fuel stop doesnt have to tell you that they have a blend if it is under 10% or less. A gallon of Ethanol has less btus than a gallon of gasoline therfore your fuel mileage will suffer.
