Re: Titan Transmission Mount

I went through 6 trans mounts in 2 months on my old 07. and the only thing done to it was a leveling kit and tires.

I dont have a solution to that but I know why. I got a 2006 with a 6" lift and I went thru 2 transmission mounts in three months. The dealer says that the lift puts stress on the mounts and therefore, they break. Did you have a big "thump" when you accelerated?

Re: Titan Transmission Mount

okay, here goes #2 tranny mount ripped... first one ripped around 14k mark, this one made it for another 20k before tearing... I was just wondering with such a simple design, someone should be able to fabricate a more durable mount... either a semi solid rubber core, that allows the flex needed, yet maintaining decent structural integrity or even a possible metal coil style mount, allows flex and yet retains the rigidity when needed. I checked on the part from the stealership and it runs $90-100, I'd imagine fabricating something would prob run just about the same, not much more though. Here are some pics I snapped of my ripped #2 mount... hopefully the third will live a little longer...
