If Nissan saysyou really don't need to change the oil in their trannies, and you change anyway with another fluid, they might have a claim for denial. Magnussen says they have to supply it if they demand it, which evidently they don't.

I'd like to see it pass in court that your transmition failed because you changed the oil "too soon" lol. They really would need to prove that the amsoil caused the failure, which it wont. In fact I think my truck runs better with it now that I have some time on the oil. It seems to shift a little smoother even after putting 20k on it.
edit: Or were you meaning a failure due to mixing 2 different oils? Nissan Supplys the oil, its just crazy expensive to get it from them, cheaper to order online.

I take care of a 1972 Citroen DS21 (for years now) that has 380,000 plus miles on it. Amsoil only. Since 1972. Head has never been off. He drives it more than any other car he owns. Many thousands a year.
It's the most trouble free car I ever see. And I see a lot.
If Amsoil can make the Jmatic spec, it goes in my Titan.
I think the Titan is going to become a cult truck and I look forward to the day that I have to pluck a VK56 and go through it.

My post was based on the fact that Magnussen says that if Nissan demands you can only use their fluid, they have to give it to you. But, if Nissan says NOT to change the oil, and you change it anyway with a non approved fluid, it could get interesting. It is like trying to put grease in a sealed bearing and claiming warranty if it failed. You are talking to someone that has seen Nissan refuse to fix a whinning rear end , under warranty, claiming since I had previous failures, I must be doing something wrong. After discussing with Magnussen lawyers, they would only go forward it I payed the bill. In other words, they did not think they would win. If I ever bought a Nissan again, I will have to get so good a deal that I can afford to bujy an extended warranty, then sell it just before the warranty runs out.

Would have been better for Nissan to have given you a New Titan, (and the relative hand-full of others, as well). Maybe, they would have reached their 100K a year sales goals. Also, would have been smart for them to follow up any negative comments by forum members about dealership's bad attitude, and retrained the idiots service writers in basic customer service technique.
My Titan has been relatively trouble free, but at this point ... I'll probably never buy a new Nissan again, and your story is part of the reason. But mostly the attitude at the service department, along with the return visits because they don't get it correct the first time.
But if they are going to start being built in Mexico, instead of Mississippi ... and w/o a Tennessee 5.6l, then F<ck Nissan ... I'll buy buy a Kentucky built Yota, or even a real Ram ... if it's Made in USA
Jatco, (the manufacturer of our RE5R05A), recommends that you never need to change the Titan's transmission fluid.
"Q. How often should the oil be changed in automatic transmissions?
A. Our products basically do not require oil changes. There are CVTs, however, that signal the need for an oil change and you should therefore check the handling manual of your vehicle for details." http://www.jatco.co.jp/ENGLISH/PRODUCTS/at_qa.html
This is good news, but if it never needs to be changed, why don't they come from the factory with used fluid in them?
This just sounds very strange to me and I will continue to change mine out, especially since it shifted better and got rid of my intermittent cold slip after the flush.
I don't think I have a problem with the flush either provided they use the engine to pump the fluid through the machine and don't add extra pressure over and above what circulates the fluid naturally.
This is all very confusing for those wanting to change their fluid and there is lots of conflicting information out there on the web. My personal experience is that I had a non pressurized flush with Matic J and the transmission performed better afterward.

I doubt it had anything to do with the Amsoil but Got Titans tranny failed and he was running the Amsoil in it. He is Supercharged and that likely contributed to the issue but I will stick with the Matic J for now and by the way, I run Amsoil in my engine and differential so I have no ax to grind with them.

A non-machine/non-pressurized flush like you mention, (described in the Nissan service manual), would be fine. Nissan's beef, with their dealers, was over them using the machines.
