Help ASAP! - Dash Lights On After Car Wash

Today, I was at the car wash and sprayed the engine compartment. I've done this before many times. But this time, when I started the engine it rev'ed up to 3k and idled very strangely. I was able to drive 1/2 mile to home where I disconnected the battery for 2 hours. After reconnecting, the Check Engine and SLP lights remained on. I drove the truck aound the block, but no thottle or power. This is not good.

I am disconnecting the battery and will let sit over night. Also, I have the VK-PRO. Any other suggestions???

Thanks in advance.

If you have canned air try drying some of the engine key aspects , check all fuses relays and connections. No throttle at all? Or just extremely low powe?

I had the exact same problem. After taking my truck to the dealer, I found out that the VK Pro connection was allowing water to short out the ECM (the dealer stated that there were signs of corrosion on the connection). The dealer removed the VK Pro and reset the ECM. It's fine now...

T Mac

I just took off the VK-PRO and found wet green corrosion. I cleaned everything thoroughly with electronics cleaner and Q-tips. I left the VK-PRO off and it is running better. The Check engine light remains on. I guess I'll have to take it in to the dealership this week.

Thanks

Don't know what the connections look like but a little dab of dielectric grease or battery terminal spray might help with corrosion.

I will try that later this week when I reconnect the VK-PRO.

Try to get the diagnostic reading. Theres a way to read the error code without taking the truck in, as well as reset the ecu / clear the check engine light . Just search the forum.

My check engine light went out after leaving the battery disconnected overnight. My plan is to get a ScanGauge when my wife will left me. Right now, she has veto power. I need to be a good boy a little longer before I ask.

yea that would be nice, I want one hooked up to a car PC so when something happends I touch the screen and it tells me the problem lol. but its not going to happen so I use the pressing the break pedal trick to read codes and look up what they mean on the net.
