Unhappy Engine, Transmission.. HELP

Drove my truck from Tucson-Phoenix and back a week ago. That's the longest drive I have taken since lifting it. I noticed on my way there and back I would be doing about 80mph and the truck wanted to downshift. Ever since I have been back home it's been running crappy, climbing a tiny hill the truck is running a higher rpm, downshifts are more frequent and even normal shifts sometimes seem sloppy. Anyone encounter this or have an idea, I need help.. Thanks

Re: Engine, Transmission.. HELP

Try an ECU reset, can't hurt anything. Check your tranny fluid.

How many miles on your rig?

Maybe you need a fluid change? Check the screen.

Do you think the lift has something to do with it?

Re: Engine, Transmission.. HELP

How and where do you check the screen, I have had the lift for 1 1/2 years. I did remember I have driven just as far one other time about a year ago and there was no problems

Re: Engine, Transmission.. HELP

Don't know the terrain or your tire size but with larger tires and hilly terrain your trany will have a hard time holding 5th or keeping the TQ convertor locked. You say the engineis running crappy, maybe some watered down gas.

resetting ECU might help.

Re: Engine, Transmission.. HELP

ECU reset done, little or no improvement, been running 35" mud terrains for 1 1/2 and now all of the sudden, this is happening. I'm on my second tank of gas, so I don't know if that's it. Anything else, also why would torque converter just start acting up, is that normal

Get it to a dealer before your powertrain warranty expires at 60K

Located in the air tube from the filter to the throttle body.

Treat it with care.

Re: Engine, Transmission.. HELP

I wouldn't suggest trying. As 37L1 stated, handle it with care.

There are (I believe) some spray cleaners out there for them, but I don't think I'd risk it.

Re: Engine, Transmission.. HELP

It's not in the TB. It's closer to the air box.
