transmission flush or NOT!!!!! !??????????

ok, i just want some opinions on transmission flushes, good and bad.... does our truck really need it. etc.......

Not for me. I drained the pan and refilled. That is about it for me. My truck has 75k and trannie feels good.

Nissan says do not flush the Jatco tranny.....do a drain and fill only.

keep them coming i know you real truck enthusiasts have an opinion on this, i am trying to brain storm what caused my tranny to fail and just want to cover all things that happend to my truck (including tranny flush) from delivery from dealer to 28,000mi.< tranny failed at this miles

I had mine flushed at the stealership at 30,000(on my 06' XE CC). I mainly did it because it was given to me by the stealership for free because they screwed up on another service. I sold the truck with 36,000 on it and got a 08.5 SE CC, but didn't have problems with the trans before selling it. Normally I'm not big on these type of things or I try to do them myself, but apparently the stealership actually has a machine to vacuum all the fluid out and replace it. Apparently you don't get all the old fluid out by just draining it yourself. I will probably do it on the 08.5 just so the stealership doesnt give me a hard time if I need warranty work done after the 36,000 mile warranty. After that I'll probably wait a long time till I do it again. You can do a search and see what other guys do about this and there's some threads that talk about what guys here have paid for the service as well. Good Luck

yeah drain and fills only swap the fluid out in the pan, to get the fluid out of the torque converter you gotta do a flush with a machine like a t-tech.

I think it should be mentioned that there is a difference between POWER flushing and a simple flush. Chain shops will POWER flush a trans using fluid and possible cleaning agents. When my dealer did my Pathy they used a machine that simply reclaimed old fluid while returning new. The trans did the actual pumping, there was no additional stress on the system and now chemical cleaners added.

Trans worked perfectly with never an issue.

The method my dealer used is similar to what you could do in your own driveway.
