Lucas Oil Products

Has anyone used lucas oil products in their titan? I used to have a camaro before my titan and one change with lucas oil sold me on it. i've been running mobil 1 full syn in my truck and i'm curious to start adding the lucas oil additive. anyone use this? btw. i'm about to switch back to using castrol syntec i saw better millage with it.

I have used it almost all my vehicles and loved it. However, how many miles are on the Titan? I wouldn't put it in too new of an engine, there's no need for it imo since a full synthectic does the job great. I've also read somewhere that the Castrol syntec is not a true synthetic base oil. I run Mobil-1 and have had no trouble so far and I'm not complaining about my mileage one bit. Just my $.02

I run Lucas oil stabilizer in all the vintage cars I service.

Reduced gearbox whine leads to reduced owner whine.

It's not like many of the cars I see are anywhere close to new.

I have been using the Lucas Fuel injector cleaner in my 2005 CC for 3 years and so far it seems to do the job of keeping my injectors clean and my fuel system in good working order - this in spite of the poor quality fuel available in my area that is often oxigenated and / or 10% ethanol (attracts water and condensation in the cold climate I live in). I have not tried the other Lucas products as yet. - Just my experience - Peace - Royr -

I also keep a bottle of the Lucas fuel treatment handy. About once a month i add some to give me a warm fuzzy. Those sales guys at Autozone worked me over.

I found that if you buy it in the 1 gallon container from a truck stop you will save alot of $$. I have been working on the same 1 gallon container I paid $18 for 3 years ago. Less painfull than paying $4 - $5 plus tax for each little bottle every month. I hope this helps you. - Peace - Royr -

yeah, but they are sales guys at autozone for a reason..... if my manual doesn't say add it, i'm not going too...

when you listen to what the product "does" it doesn't sound like something i want to put in my motor.... i'm sure the lubricants are great, but how can you effectively clean an injector that is still in your motor? wouldn't the "dirt" just go into your cylinder? would you want that?

the restore products seem like they would fill in some of the small oil passages and coolant passages... i wouldn't want that either. just my .02

The fuel injector cleaner never makes it into the bottom end. It just disolves the gum and varnish that accumulates on the tiny injector nozzils - and then the crud gets blown out thru the exhaust when the spark fires and the valve opens - right out the big opening of the muffler. We have such poor quality fuel where I live that if you don't use a cleaner you will need to have your injectors replaced every year or two as they block up whith the crud. There is no fuel filter in our Titans - so you have to keep the dirt and water from condensation moving or it bottle necks at the smallest point - the injector nozzles and clogs them shut down to a drip instead of a spray.

i'm still skeptical... but you have real world experience.. i guess i would see soaking the injectors as working, but how does it clean while injecting fuel into the motor... it has to work fast, or is it just gradually cleaning as it burns through the system...

what's with the fuel in your area being of such poor quality?

If you use a fuel injector cleaner, it's best to do right before an oil change. You don't want to leave that stuff in for extended times, it could lead to extended wear.

my thought process is more of PM than an effective target. i dont want that stuff to start building up if i can prevent it.

it didnt say to buy wheels or intakes or lift the front in the manual either did it?

I looked at this, and it didn't entirely convince me that lucas is bad. For one in his experiment the control was bad, to prove that air was getting trapped in the oil. Because the oil that he added the lucas to was becoming lighter to begin with.

And someone else asked how many miles were on my truck, ahah it only has 37000.
