I recieved my 4:56 gears yesterday. They should be installed by tomorrow. I can't wait to see how the truck performs.
By the way, Chad at Superior Axle & Gear has done a great job working with me. I'm extremely impressed by their customer service.
Thats awesome man.
I have a question for you guys, I have 35inch tires and I cant decide between the 4.10 and 4.56 gears. Would 4.56 be to much for 35s? What is the differents on the freeways and around the city?

Go with the 4.10's. 4.56's are pretty low for 35's.

I have a set of 3.73 gears with 35" tires and these gears give me a stock tow package ratio, so running 4.10 gears would be lower then stock even with 35" tires...
i'll be going with 4.10 sometime in the future...
P.S Don't forget the TruTrac.....

ok, so here's an update. Shop still working on minor issues. Ring and pinion was designed to be used with original Carrier so there is a design fit issues with using with tru trac install. Superior has a fix it's a ring spacer that's designed to make up the difference so that the ring and pinion don't have any play. They claim that the bolts still should be fine with the added spacer. Last week ran into a problem didn't have a crush sleeve or bolts for the new ring and pinion so had to buy a install kit from Superior designed for new gears. For those wanting to know about cruise control. I'm pretty sure you won't have it since the original locker(carrier) is electronic and tru trac is not therefore not plugged into wiring which sends signals to computer about rate of speed in which the gears turn. Should know next tues if all works.

What is the word, I am very interested because I will be running 4.56's as well.
It's hard to use it in so cal with all the traffic, I use cruise daily.
Ya but your gonna wish you had done the tru trac exchange when you rearend fails at the most in opportune time. The original spider gears(carrier) are crap the teeth break off.

hmmm? you lost me there.. I plan on running tt and 4.56's, cruise or not, but I definitely will miss it.

I know it's not you, but that isn't making sense...
The TT is made to the exact same spec's as the factory carrier, that's why it's a straight bolt in, no spacers, no machining....so why would gears that are supposed to bolt right in not fit?....It's NOT the TruTrac...
And the C/Control not working although is true, but isn't because the factory locker is now missing...Think about it, most people DON'T have that locker yet they have C/Control.... The C/C get's it's speed signal from the rear wheel ABS rings...
I hope they get things straightened out...
