Lets just say 08 and 09 gears were released...
My delema would be that I'd want the 3.73's back, however I have since then fallen in love with my cruise control....
Is there any way i could have the best of worlds??
Are you sure about the cruise?
I had my 4:56's installed about a month ago and my cruise control still works!

If I remember correctly, the cruise light would just flash.. I really didn't mind back then because I never used it... Did your uprev clear it somehow??
I spoke with Chad over at Superior Alex and got a quote of, labor $380.00 +parts(how much is Superior charging for Gears?).... Does that sound steep?? Does anybody know where I can get a better deal on install? SoCal? I am looking to go the 4:10 route, Thanks.

I never did have any codes and the cruise light never flashed for me. Everything works great.

Maybe it has something to do with having Big Tow vs Not.
I think I will look into getting a Big Tow flash to see if that is it what you have a XE does it have Big Tow

Its an XE.. But from the looks of his sig, I think he has he small mirrors..
Unless he has the offroad package, I'd doubt he had the BT 3.36 before
No, I spoke with Chad as I am going to get 3.73 gears put in and he warns that cruise control will be lost.
I will let you know also, that your factory cruise control may not work, after
swapping your gears out. I've had a set of 4.56's go into one truck, an it
not be affected. I just got a call from another customer this morning, that
installed 4.10's in his, and although no ABS lights came on...his cruise control doesn't work. Currently, I have no solution for this, as I have yet to determine why one would work, and another wouldn't. This is all information that I need to make sure you're aware of.

Chad Jones
that is correct... my friend just installed Superior 3.73s and trutrac in a customers titan and the cruise was lost. not one tech or those in the know can understand why its lost. other than that Superior gears work flawlessly.

I've been under the impression for quite some time that aftermarket gears= no cruise control.

I won't know for sure for a day or two when my rig comes out of the shop with Superior Axle 4.10 gears and ARB RD-149 locker, but I find this discussion to be wacky. Chad called me the day before yesterday to hear what my results were and informed me that a customer cited an issue with their cruise control not working. I know 20 to 30 Xterras that have switched gear ratio to 3.36 to be compatible when they swapped in the M205, I know Xterras running Frontier ring and pinion sets, and not one ever cited a problem with cruise control. Why would after-market gears be any different than the stock ring and pinion...why only in very few cases did the cruise control malfunction...this has zero continuity and lacks logic??? My installer is an expert (builds dragsters, hot rods, monster 4x4), and I'll post my results here very soon, but in the meantime I'm siding with titan007 on this topic, and must assume installer error is the culprit for reported cruise control malfunctions.
A lonnnnggg time ago, I believe I read somewhere hear that there is a second speedo sensor in the rear axle..
In this event, if the two sensors (1st being in the tranny) dont match up, than the cc would disengage.
**anyone feel free to add FACTS, because im not sure if this is completely true
