Maybe an aswer to popping C-Clips

I found in the recent issue of OFF-Road mag and article on a company called RCVperformance. They specialize in IFS axle shafts (CV shafts) and the picture was a Chevy 2500 front axle shaft with a slip spline in the middle. So I emailed the company and they said that if I sent them my shafts they could produce a slip shafted axle shaft for me. Cost.... $459.00 ea. and 3-4 wks for production. They claim an extra 2.75" of travel. This definately seems like a alternative... here's the link..

Oh and I know that it says GM 1500.. But they can make them for our T's

That looks like a great idea for lifted trucks. How does it help with c clip breakage? I read the linked sight but only saw the claims of increased travel.

Re: Maybe an aswer to popping C-Clips

Well if we had a slip splined shaft, it would eliminate the "pulling motion" that the axle shafts see during some 4WD operation. Thats when the c-clip breaks or pulls out when the axle shaft is pushed and pulled within the differential. I probably made it worse..

I saw this article and was going to post a link, but couldn't find it in the magazine when I went back to look for it.

Yea it seems like a good idea. Suprised nobody has thought about this before. If I'm not mistaken, they offer the "you break it, we replace it" warranty.
