Does anyone know exactly how to re-wire the foglights to they will be "on" when the parking lights are on, and stay on with the low beam and high beam headlights?
I know it's just a matter of moving the foglight "trigger" line from the low beam wire to the parking light wire. However I'd like specific details of where I find these wires, and what it takes to access these wires.
I did this with my '00 Tundra, after finding exact details on the TundraSolutions website, and was hoping for the same assistance here.
Thanks, Ken

I am having trouble uploading the lighting section of the service manual to you. Even compressed, the file is larger than the 2.0 mb limit. I will see if I can save the individual pages and then upload, but you can download the service manual for yourself on Nissan's technical document download site. It costs $19.99.
In the Titan Service Manual:
The section for the Fog lamps is LT 67-77
And the Parking lamps are LT 107-?
Both show wiring diagrams, schematics, including wire coloring, fuse connector location on fuse box, etc. Should be enough info for your project
I chose to wire my fog lights directly to a switch so they work independently of everything else and can use them whenever I want, even when the truck is off and the key is out and the headlights are turned off (like for pitching a tent at a camp site in the dark).
PM me your email address and I will be happy to email you the lighting section of the service manual. Even when I split the compressed file in half, the server had a new file size limit of 496 k for that file type. This is frustrating.
Hey pciley -- You emailed me the wiring diagrams, but I haven't yet figured out exactly what to do for fog light re-wire. Is it possible to post the steps needed to do this here?
Thanks, Ken
Pc........I cannot find the nissan sight where you can download the tech manual for 19.99. I found the nissan site where you can download one for 221.00. Can you help me out with the 411?

That's the one... $19.99 for one day use right? that's what I did too. Go in and don't waste time reading anything today, just download all the files for the service manual. (When each file opens in Adobe Acrobat, go to "file" then "save" for each file. It is kinda tedious, took about 20 minutes if I remember correctly, but it saves you ALOT of $$$.
Then you will have the whole thing.
I would burn you a copy on CD but that's illegal. I would email it to you but the total file size on everything is just under 100mb and my mail box won't let me send files that big.
Hey, I am sorry now that I have done the how-to by PM because I could have just posted the link here for you to view if I had just made a thread.
Your re-wire will be easier because you have OR package, right? (fogs, front skidplate, ranchos, etc.)
You will need to remove the single nut behind each fog lamp and pull them out (after the nut is removed, you still have a push-in type of clip with that plastic stud of the lamp housing going through it that is VERY hard to push out.. just push harder).
The harness that clips onto the back of each lamp is very useful here. Cut the wires about 6" back from the plug that goes to the light if you are ok with that. The ends of the wire now hanging under the truck can be taped up independently so they won't arc. You should remove the fog lamp fuse from the truck so that the wires won't receive power.
Wire a power line using.. I think I used a 12 or 14 guage "speaker wire".. from the battery to each lamp and wire a ground to each lamp that will be broken in the cab by a switch. The switch will have ONE ground wire coming from both lamps (wired kinda series like) and one wire leaving the switch that will be grounded under the dash by any screw touching metal under there that you choose.
I used "split loom" that corrigated plastic tubing split down one side, for that OEM look. The wiring is all run through that. I used a RING TERMINAL at the battery for the positive wire, another after the switch for the ground. I also used an inline fuse of the same amperage as the OEM fuse on the positive lead about 14" from the battery. Use BUTT connectors to splice the wires back to the OEM fog light plugs that you cut off earlier.
Try to spend a few minutes before all this to see where you would like to run wires under the hood. try to hide them so it all looks clean and factory. I ran them under the grill inside the bumper so nobody will ever see them except the wire running from the battery which looks OEM anyways because its inside the same split loom that Nissan uses for their wiring.
As far as the switch, the most factory look is to use one of those knockout pieces to the left of the steering wheel down low above the kick panel. The knockouts push out from behind, or you can unscrew this panel, its real fast and easy, and then just carefuly remove the knockout. Drill a hole in it and mount any switch you like. All the supplies I used were from Radio Shack and thats also where I found a nice black plastic switch that matched the knockout and didn't stand out at all.
BTW make sure you have plenty of zipties to clean things up. Helps tuck the wires out of the way under the truck and dash, etc.
I think that's about it. If I left something out let me know.
Now you can turn on your fogs whenever you want, to setup camp or just drive around with them on during the day so people in the fast lane move out of your way, have fun.

Paul, thanks for the tips on re-wiring the fog lights. What I'd really like to do is what I did with my Tundra ... re-wire the foglight trigger wire from the low beams to the parking lights. This way the fogs would come on anytime the park lights, low beams or high beams are on (provided the fog light switch is in the "on" position). If I could find out which wire is the fog light voltage trigger wire, where to intercept it and where to re-wire it to, all this could be accomplished without cutting wires at the fog lights, and installing a separate switch.
Still hoping someone has or will figure this out, and post it for all of us.
hmm.. well my problem is solved. I would consult the very detailed wiring diagrams in the service manual. They will tell you exactly which wire you are looking for. good luck
