baked on bird ****e

Had a bird deliver a package right smack dab in the middle of the roof. Unfortunately by the time realized it the sun had already baked it onto the roof. I washed it off but I can still see where it was...

Any suggestions on how to buff out the spot? I was thinking just maybe some compound and wax. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

A clay bar is probably the best, it'll get out any bugs and junk and won't harm your paint, just be sure to re-wax the area afterward. If you don't know what a clay bar is, well, it's just that, it's basically sill putty but designed for cars. You can find them at most auto parts stores.

Clay bar is good but if that doesn't take it out, look for a product called Selig Cutter (not sure on the spelling of Selig). There is a local distibutor here that carries this stuff and it has to be the best stuff on earth for fine scratches and bird crap!

Well I didn't want to post the word ****, so I typed it with an e on the end of it to keep it from being blocked, guess it didn't work.

If you have already removed the offending stuff from the paint, claybar WILL NOT remove any etching that may have occurred. Don't waste your time. If you can still see the area where it landed, this means the clearcoat is etched. Claybar only works to remove surface contaminants. I recommend you try 3M Imperial Hand Glaze. It is a relatively mild (very little abrasive) liquid that will help remove the etching you have on your paint. Follow the instructions on the bottle. Rewax after application. For future reference, keep a small bottle of detail spray or distilled water and a microfiber cloth in your truck. Hit the stuff as soon as you can, hopefully before it dries.

Great Advice... The Selig Cutter is basically the EXACT same thing as the 3M stuff mentioned! Both are awesome products!
