If yours has an electronic locking rear diff you can do it.
Good call. Is there a button or something that tells me that. Do I need to crawl under the truck to find out? I did not buy it new, I dont have the window sticker.
Okay just double checking I can run a wire from terminal 4 to 8 for the ground and same with terminal 3 to switch
Terminal 4 and 8 both need to go to the ground from the DLCU. If you just run leads from both terminals to a wire tap onto the ground from the DLCU you should be good. Terminal 3 and the switch both need to tie into the blue wire from the DLCU. So again if you just tie them both together and tap into the blue wire it should work. Hope that helps.

Below the radio and HVAC controls there should be switches for tow mode, E-lock, VDC, etc. if you don't see an E-lock button you don't have one. It would look like a stick figure of the trucks drivetrain with an "X" on the rear diff and it will say "Lock" underneath it.

Ahh. Balls. I dont have it. Would that be something that I can add from a vehicle that does have it?

Could be a wrong wire. I never had the light flash and go off like that. Try to retrace all the wires to be sure you didn't get one crossed up somewhere. Usually if you hit the factory switch not in 4lo it will continue blinking.
tried at the back of the truck same results maybe i have a faulty replay?
Either that or you might have shorted a 4X4 safety sensor, it'll make the 4X signal flash intermittently while trying to engage it as well... You'll need to perform the ECU Reset, then try activating the locker again afterwards... but I've never seen the Diff lock light flashing, so you might even have a faulty locker controller???
