Les schwab told me you have to take it to the dealer and they use some wand to reprogram the set to the truck. I had my oem sensors on my aftermarket wheels and just put me OEM wheels back on with another set of TPMS sensors I bought and the light came on after about 20 miles on them. I will be going to the dealer this week to look into the "wand" and let you know.

Re: How to disable Low Tire Pressure Monitor LIGHT?

Mine has only come on twice (once on my 04 and once on my 05)...Both times it was due to an elevation + temperature change

Re: How to disable Low Tire Pressure Monitor LIGHT?

So, from reading the responses on this thread I guess I can expect to do the black tape mod when my wheels and tires arrive.

Please keep us posted.

I purchased new wheels & tires with new sensors. All was well for abt 300 miles & then the stupid light came on! Funny thing is it went off abt 300 miles later & keeps repeating this cycle. I'm thinking they just need to be programed to the ECU but haven't had a chance to visit the dealer. If it's an easy fix I'll do it but if not I can live w/o...

Dropped by the dealer today and sure enough... took only a few minutes to program the new sensors to the truck and they're working fine. The $40 I paid for the extra sensors was well worth it and now I just have to drop by the dealer when I change out my wheels twice each year ) Hope this helps!!

lol well to the topic, I put new rims and the stims leaked so I just got regular ones put in and just got used of the light being on, doesnt bother me anymore. I wonder how long that little booger would stay on before it burns out. lol
