Do you recall or has anyone asked Jamie what the fog light's go for? The lights, not the kit...
I'm just trying to get an idea of what this set up cost you and compare to that of the whole kit from Nissan...
I like the idea of not replacing that stalk because it looks like the new one will have an "auto" feature for the headlights that will not work without more mods since I have the SE...
I guess what I'm getting at is I wouldnt want something on the truck that didnt work, if the auto feature doesnt work, why does it need to be on the stalk? If I do it this way, it will just be a different switch, that looks good BTW...
I don't know this for fact, but I would imagine that buying just the lights would cost nearly the same as buying the kit. I say this because you would have to buy each light separate, which would cost more than if you bought them in a set.
I feel the same way about having a nonworking feature, that is why I didn't use the replacement stalk and ordered the Nissan rocker switch. I haven't figured out why they put a LE stalk in the kit that is being sold for XE and SE trucks w/o OR package. What were they thinking???
Tech12Volt Enclosure, TechTubes Polished SS Step Rails, OEM Fog Lights, OEM Bug Deflector, ARE LSII Hard Tonneau Cover, Black Stubby Antenna, Volant CAI,
JDM 6000K HID Lows & Fogs, SilverStar Halogen High-beams, LED Third Brake Light, Red Billet Aluminum Oil Cap, Red Active Tuning Grounding Kit, Body Colored Front Spoiler,
Ok, I appologize, I guess I didnt read your post carefully enouogh, I thought you bought the pieces separatly, and you didnt buy the kit...
Thanks for clearing that up for me..,
So basically you have the kit plus a $4 relay and the $15.00 nissan switch? That doesnt sound so bad, guess I'll have to weigh that option with whatever it would cost to make the auto feature work. Someone is in the process of figuring that out...
WOw, what a great post. . .my only question is because my Titan came with the stock fog lamps, I would be bypassing the factory switch alltogether, right? I mean, if the factory switch was on or off, it would effect the fog lamps if I did this Mod?
Also, if I wanted to replace the factory fog lamps with some HID lamps, would I use this same mod?
Thanks!

Yes, you would be bypassing the factory switch. It would not have any effect on the fog lights. Another option would be to find someone that added the oem fogs that still has their original turn signal stalk without the fog light switch that they removed.
As far as the HID's, you would have no problems. I just added them. All you do is hook up the ballast/igniter plug into the factory plug that provides power to the lamps and plug the connectors from the HID bulbs to the box as well. No further modification is needed.

The light kit comes with or without the auto feature. There are two versions of the stalk, the dealer will ask you which one you want.
Real question is why don't they just sell the missing harness for the XE's??? It's a plug in as far as I can understand.
hey Big Red..........
im getting fog lights (and chrome rails) installed on my 05 SE on Monday by the dealer, bought the truck just a week ago.
will they install the fog lights w a switch, or w a console switch?
do u think that i'll have the option of useing the fogs W/OUT the headlights, which is what i prefer?............
from what i understand is that if they do a factory install, fogs will go on ONLY w headlights....
what ya think? i can at least ask the service manager if they can bend the rules while doing the install no?

If the dealer is installing it, more than likely it's the factory foglights. It will come with new headlight stalk that include the switch built in. If the dealer is doing it, it will come on with the headlights.
